Spartans Fall to Denmark in Road Matchup
Campbell High School's football team suffered a 21-38 defeat against Denmark, dropping their record to 1-1 this season.
The Campbell High School Spartans faced a challenging matchup against Denmark on Friday night, ultimately falling by a score of 21-38 at Great Dane Stadium in Alpharetta, Georgia. This loss brings the Spartans' record to 1-1 for the season.
Quarterback Davin Lemire led the Spartans offensively, throwing for 181 yards on 11 completions out of 24 attempts, including two touchdown passes. Lemire also contributed on the ground, rushing for 26 yards and scoring one rushing touchdown. His performance was complemented by standout receiver Pierre Mendy, who caught four passes for 84 yards and one touchdown.
In addition to Mendy, Zane Willis made a notable impact with a single reception that went for 56 yards and a touchdown, while Jayden Thornton added 30 yards on two catches. Despite the offensive efforts, the Spartans managed only 37 rushing yards collectively, with Zach Willis and Elias Cabrera contributing 13 and 5 yards, respectively.
Defensively, Cortez Stephens led the Spartans with 15 tackles, while Brandon Moore and Jemaine Samuels added 10 and 7 tackles, respectively. Hill Harper also made a significant play with an interception during the game.
Looking ahead, the Spartans will aim to bounce back as they prepare to host North Forsyth next Friday at 7:30 p. m.
