Spartans Open Season with 34-24 Victory Over Wheeler

The Campbell Spartans kicked off their football season with a 34-24 victory over Wheeler on Aug. 21 at Corky Kell Stadium in Marietta, Ga. This win marks the Spartans' first of the season, improving their record to 1-0.

Quarterback Davin Lemire delivered an impressive performance, completing 16 of 29 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown. He also shined on the ground, rushing for 200 yards on 11 carries, scoring three rushing touchdowns. In the receiving game, Pierre Mendy was a significant contributor, finishing with 60 yards on five receptions, including one touchdown. Jamier Samuels also made an impact with four yards on two catches. Defensively, Cortez Stephens led the team with 17 tackles, while Brandon Moore added to the effort with one sack. The Spartans will look to build on this success when they face Denmark on Sept. 4.
